Class I Cultural Resource Overview of the Bureau of Land Management’s Uncompahgre Field Office, Western Colorado. by Rand A. Greubel, Jaclyn Mullen, Matthew J. Landt, Jonathon C. Horn, and Alan D. Reed.
In 2010, Alpine conducted a Class I compilation and analysis of baseline cultural resource data for the BLM’s Uncompahgre Field Office, which encompasses much of the Uncompahgre Plateau and a large surrounding area extending from the West Elk Mountains on the east to the Utah state line on the west and from the Grand Mesa on the north to the San Juan Mountains on the south. The Class I report also includes a site sensitivity model developed for BLM management purposes. The description of cultural resources includes interpretations of past human behaviors and identifies data gaps and corresponding lines of needed research.
