Alpine Archaeological Consultants, Inc. is based in western Colorado, not far from the Utah border, in an area dominated by public landholdings. The majority of Alpine projects have been in the Southern Rocky Mountains, Central Plains, Colorado Plateau, and Great Basin provinces of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Kansas, and Nebraska.
